We love raising money for vital causes and our Santa in the City 5km charity event - raising money for Mates in Mind and The Brain Tumour Society - was a massive success. We were due to take part in the ‘Superhero in the City 2020’ but, for obvious reasons, that has been cancelled so that we can all stay safe indoors and protect those around us.

Working in construction, we all know there’s always a solution to every obstacle, so we are working with the organisers to promote a great opportunity to play dress up and, more importantly, get our friends, family and pets involved in ‘National Superhero Day’ to show our support and raise money for our front line Superheroes, because not all heroes wear capes.

Like us, I'm sure you have been in awe of all the incredible front line teams, volunteers and organisations who have gone above and beyond to respond to the COVID-19 crisis. Their dedication and commitment is really remarkable and a testament to their devotion to keeping us safe!

As a way to recognise their incredible efforts we are asking as many people as possible to take part in a fundraising campaign called ‘Superhero in the Home’, which is taking place on National Superhero Day, 28th April 2020.

This is a free event and provides the perfect opportunity for us all to do something fun together to celebrate the remarkable effort of all our front line teams and volunteers whilst also raising money for a great cause, all from the safety of home.

All you need to do is encourage your colleagues, family and pets to put on a superhero outfit, get creative and share what you’re up to on social media, spreading the word and raising money through our dedicated fundraising site https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/qob-interiors-superheroes.

We appreciate that you may already have front line charities that you support and encourage you to still use this as a way to raise money for them. This is about raising moral awareness and much needed money.

Stuck for ideas? Never fear!

If you are stuck for ideas, here are some that we created for you. Just think of what a great home-schooling project this could be for your children, nephews, nieces, and grandchildren. Check out our Pinterest board for inspiration! QOB Superheroes Pinterest Board

• Get Dressed up – dust off those Halloween Superhero costumes or even make some. We have a Superhero mask template for you to decorate.

• Build a Superhero assault course - Use this as a chance to turn your garden or part of your home into a fun course to complete in your superhero suit and it might be a good use for any excess loo rolls.

• We have estimated that walking 6,000 steps would be the approximate distance of a 5km run for an adult and 10,000 steps would be the distance for a child. Remember you don’t need to do all the steps in one go.

• Get Baking - Release you’re inner super-cooking skills and be the king or queen of your kitchen. You could go healthy and make superhero flapjacks, smoothies or a superhero salad if you prefer!

• Write a poem - Release you’re inner-writer skills and bring your ultimate superhero to life! Whether it is a well-known superhero, a front line superhero or someone who has inspired you. Writing a poem about them and the work they do is a great way to practice your writing and let your imagination run wild!

• This is all about what we do in our homes to support this wonderful effort, but if you were even braver, why not take your hour slot, wear you superhero outfit and run like the wind! I am sure kids would love to know mum or dad are out there fighting for this amazing cause!

The most important thing is to take pics! We want to see everyone’s contributions – you can share with us on our social media pages, please see details below or by emailing us at info@qobinteriors.com. [Disclaimer: Please note that by emailing us your photos you are giving us consent to use these on our social media platforms which include Linked In/Twitter/Facebook and Instagram.]

Thank you for taking time to read this, it would be amazing if we can all help from our home in some way!
